We really wanna know what you think of this forum Smiley The more feedback we can get, the more we can improve it. Thanks

Of course.. I voted "excellent" Wink Because it's "my" idea and I think it's awesome Grin (I'm also psychotic so that plays a huge part in my vote) Tongue

Seriously?  I love the color scheme. Very easy on the eyes.
And more importantly,  I think this is a place all us psychotics will feel at home.

I think this is a good concept and an important forum to have.

I think there might be a couple of problems with the forum itself, though:

1) Trying to grow too fast?

You've got a lot of categories, but not much traffic in any of them. This doesn't help the forum atmosphere. You have to check lots of separate pages to find any interesting discussions, and yet none of them are very compelling because new posts are rare.

It'd be better to have a small number of forums to match the small number of users. We can figure out what's what from the topic titles, after all.

If you build up a large membership quickly this won't matter, but if you don't then you have the huge echoing empty hall effect. It might be a good idea to trim the forums down to, say, one forum per program (instead of four each).

We also would benefit from some cross-talk between usergroups. One of the benefits of this forum is that people using different software can talk to each other (many of these packages have their own dedicated forums, after all).

2) Technology lagging

I don't know what the deal is with the server and software, but this site is often slow and sometimes not available. Worse, though, the login widget doesn't work with my browser's password storage. Nor will it keep me logged in if I ask it to. In fact, even if I type my password every time, the form always rejects it as the wrong password, then sends me to a second form where I can actually log in.

Which is too much of a hassle. I'm putting up with it for now, but eventually I'll get too annoyed and quit coming. I suspect many other people are less patient than I am.

3) "Linux Graphics User" is not exactly poetic

Just try saying it five times fast. I doubt that's enough to hurt your success, but you never know. Marketing does matter.

I wonder if a more clever name was possible?

So, it's a really good cause, but I think it's may take some extra effort to get it to become a successful forum.
